“İkinci Buluşma” — 2024

Following the overwhelming interest in “Buluşma,” our institution returned with an expanded cast and new choreographies, this time taking the stage at the Atatürk Kültür Merkezi.
About the Performance
Following the remarkable interest from the press and arts community in our 2023 adult ballet performance, a first of its kind in Türkiye, “İkinci Buluşma” came to life. Staged at AKM on June 5, 2024, the production featured 70 women prepared by our team of instructors under the leadership of Ekin Akbaş Arpacı.
The audience of 800 experienced 20 different choreographies, ranging from excerpts of classical ballet works such as Giselle and La Bayadère to contemporary dance and neo-classical ballet pieces. The performance received a standing ovation that lasted for several minutes and was met with great appreciation from the arts community.
The interest shown in “Buluşma,” our 2023 adult ballet performance and a first of its kind in Türkiye, once again reinforced the belief at the heart of our institution: ballet is for everyone. I am incredibly excited, both personally and on behalf of our institution, for this new performance, which will bring together women of different ages, body types, and professions before our audience.

Today, I watched 70 strong, confident, and passionate women on stage, and that was priceless. Throughout this process, we worked alongside many professionals from across the ballet world, from lighting to costume. Seeing my students and my team receive a standing ovation that lasted for minutes was a tremendous source of pride for me.
