Contemporary Dance
A unique dance language that blends different dance traditions
🎓 Ministry of Education Certified Program
About the Program
Our Contemporary Dance Program is a comprehensive arts education aimed at enabling students to use their bodies more freely, creatively, and consciously. Throughout the program, students learn the technical structure of movement while also working on emotional expression, body language, rhythm, breathwork, and the use of space.
Contemporary dance education combines classical technical foundations with a contemporary understanding of movement, allowing students to develop their own movement language. Classes support both the physical and artistic development of students through practices such as flow exercises, improvisation, space utilization, partner work, and choreographic research.
The program is suitable for both students who want to take dance lessons as a hobby and participants who aim to advance in the field of performing arts. During the training process, students develop body coordination, flexibility, strength, balance, stage awareness, and performance skills, while also having the opportunity to freely express their creativity.
At advanced levels, students prepare for a more professional work discipline through choreography production, repertoire work, individual performance development, and stage projects. Our training aims to develop not only students’ technical skills but also their intellectual and artistic perspectives.
The Ekin Akbaş Ballet and Dance education system distinguishes itself from other institutions with its approach that centers on students’ individual expressive power and creativity. Our training is delivered by experienced instructors who have stage experience and strong communication skills with students.
